Sourcing City enjoyed a great day out in Birmingham with their team “Soccer City” coming a respectable 3rd – in their group (of 4……..) The top two in each group went through to the quarterfinals. Now while on the face of it, 3rd in the group appears not to be a flying performance, the top two in the group (now to be known for eternity as the group of death) who qualified were ultimately the two finalists SPS & BTC Activewear, with the SPS team being the winners of the PPD Cup.
A special mention must go to 4th place team in the group of death Eco Warriors, with Mark Lever of Everything Environmental being I think the only person to score a goal against SPS. Just a shame about the 11 that went in the other end, without that a good 1 – 0 win was on the cards!
Our thanks to Nigel Bailey and PPD for a great day out. Looking forward to next year already, and have made a mental note to bring some subs. I reckon they would have been helpful! Hey ho!
