Just two months after Laltex Group was announced as a recipient of the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, CEO Sanjay Mulchand attended a Royal reception where he had the honour of meeting His Majesty King Charles III in recognition of the achievement.
Leigh-based Laltex Group received the award in the Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility category for its Supported Employment Programme, delivered in partnership with Seashell Trust. The reception brought together recipients of the 2026 King’s Awards for Enterprise, celebrating businesses that have demonstrated excellence across a range of categories.
The King’s Award recognised more than two decades of collaboration between Laltex Group and Seashell Trust, helping create meaningful employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities and additional needs. Since launching its structured supported employment programme in 2017, the initiative has enabled participants to develop workplace skills, confidence and long-term careers within the business.
Reflecting on the Royal reception, Sanjay Mulchand said: “It was an incredible privilege to meet His Majesty The King and represent everyone at Laltex Group. Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise was already a tremendous honour, but attending the Royal reception was a truly proud moment for our business and for everyone who has been part of this journey. This recognition belongs to our team members, our partners at Seashell Trust and, most importantly, to the incredible individuals whose lives have been transformed through meaningful employment opportunities. Their achievements inspire us every day.
At Laltex, we have always believed that opportunity changes lives. This award is a reminder that when businesses invest in people, remove barriers and create inclusive workplaces, amazing things can happen. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved together, and I hope this inspires us to continue making a positive difference for many years to come.”
The recognition reflects Laltex Group’s wider “One Family” ethos, with community engagement and charitable partnerships forming one of the company’s four strategic pillars. The business continues to champion inclusive employment, believing that opening doors to talented individuals not only changes lives but also strengthens businesses and communities alike.
Laltex Group hopes the King’s Award will encourage more organisations to embrace supported employment initiatives and recognise the value that diverse, inclusive workforces bring. The company has once again thanked Seashell Trust, its team members and everyone involved in the programme, describing the achievement as one shared by the entire Laltex family.
