Sourcing City hosted the first Purple Club Supplier Summit on November 5th at Wyck Hill House & Spa in the Cotswolds.

Thirty Purple Club Supplier Members met in a collaborative, and open & honest environment, to discuss the issues facing the Industry today. It quickly became apparent, & was a relief to all, that each individual issue was shared by all and were Industry wide.

The attached report are minutes from the day, detailing the discussions and views, and feedback from presentations that were taken throughout the Purple Club Supplier Summit. The three Key areas debated in discussion groups in the morning and presented to the entire group in the afternoon were:

1.    Supplier Service Levels
2.    Return On Investment – Exhibitions / Road Shows / End User Shows
3.    Distributor Margins

Some Key points arising from the day were:

–    Common will & desire to grow the Industry, to be driven by professionalism and charging what we are worth.
–    Increase communication leading to enhanced valued partnerships.
–    We all need to show standards, professionalism and respect to get a ROI – No one needs their time wasted.
–    Preferred Partner relations should be mutual, honoured and rewarded.
–    Additional Services Should be Charged – We should place value on all we do!
–    Express Delivery should be charged as a Premium.
–    Some Shows/Exhibitions & Events, need to be challenged for their current effectiveness or position in the market
–    BPMA to make its core purpose, the promotion of the value and effectiveness of Promotional merchandise.
