“The team and I had some extremely sad news at the start of this week when we learned of the passing of a dear colleague Liz Bailey after a short illness.

Liz was the Accounts Manager at Steel City for eight and a half years. She was extremely methodical, loyal and conscientious in her role, had a wicked sense of humour and there was never a dull moment when she was around! She was way younger than her years and I actually never anticipated her ever wanting to retire from work.

We kept in touch with Liz with texts, phone calls and visits over recent months. She received fantastic care – in particular the Palliative Care Unit at the Northern General Hospital. She would always tell us how amazing the nurses all were – they even let her have a sneaky glass of Mead wine quite often! None of us had heard of this tipple so we would have a giggle with her about such a strange beverage!

Having spoken to Liz’s daughter, she has asked that if anyone wants to make a donation, they can use the following link: http://www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk/donate#panel2-2 and, by using the code 5363 this will be allocated to the Palliative Care Unit. If you include “Liz Bailey” in the text box too, then they can see whose name to associate it with.

Thank you,

James and the Team.”
