New Industry Standard Sets Agenda at BPMA Christmas Lunch

A new industry standard and driving end user awareness were the main thrust of BPMA chairman Graeme Smith’s address at the BPMA Christmas Lunch, which was held at the Guoman Tower Hotel in London on the 15th December.

“Following a number of high profile liquidations, a number of conversations have taken place to help avoid situations re-occurring” said Smith. “The new industry standard will be formalised in the new year.”

Smith went onto highlight the investment being made by the Association in research including being part of a pan European project, supplier mystery shopper and more end user activity.

“Education will play a significant part of driving standards with the relaunch of the BPMA education programme” said Smith.  “The BPMA Education day being held on the 30th January, has almost 90 delegates now, 23 from one distributor alone.”

Two awards were also presented at the event, the first was the Richard Dyson award sponsored by the Briman group to support the most active distributor in promoting UK manufacturers.  The winner was Jamie Marshall from Premier Print & Promotions and collected by Trevor Howard in Jamie’s absence.

The second award was for the Victor Rosewell’s Sword of Honour bestowed to an individual who has given considerable amount of the time to support the association.  As a past chair, president and director of the BPMA, the award was presented to CEO of Fluid Branding, Matt Franks.  Franks will now become a fellow member of the BPMA.

The BPMA Christmas Lunch has been run for over 20 years, and the association is indebted to master fundraiser and host Brian Keenan who has worked with us for all those years.  Over £1000 was raised for the association’s 2017 charity, Alzheimer’s and the BPMA would like to thank all those who provided raffle prizes.
