Everything Environmental MD Evan Lewis to brave -30?c temperatures for Greenland Cross Country Ski Race in a bid to fundraise for bone marrow charity Myeloma UK.

Evan’s challenge of a lifetime will take place from 5th – 8th April 2013

Evan Lewis, Founder and Managing Director of Everything Environmental, the UK’s leading trade-only supplier of eco-friendly and recycled promotional gifts, will be putting his endurance levels to the test when he takes part in a gruelling 100km cross country ski race in Greenland in temperatures as low as -30c.  Evan is in a bid to raise as much money as possible for bone marrow charity Myeloma UK.

To partake in the challenge of a lifetime Evan will be traveling to the west coast of Greenland to compete in the Arctic Circle Race, which sees cross country skiers from around the world compete in a rigorous set of races over Greenland’s frozen landscape, during the three day race.

Not only will Evan be enduring freezing cold temperatures but he will also be sleeping in a tent by night. Whilst the challenge will be both physically and mentally exhausting it’s worth it in a bid to raise much needed funds for Myeloma UK, a charity very close to his heart.

Evan commented: “Myeloma UK is an incredible charity that is dedicated solely to Myeloma research and the work they undertake is invaluable. I want to help in any way I can and if that means enduring -30c temperatures and sleeping in a tent for three nights then that’s what I will do to raise as much money as possible.”

He further added: “During the race I will be carrying enough to survive 24 hours should the weather turn and I get stuck without making camp.

“Drinking stations will provide enough water for the 6-7 litres I’ll need each day while high energy snack bars and expedition ration packs will help replace the seven to eight thousand calories I’ll be burning. Aside from that it’s going to be a walk in the park!”

Evan’s challenge of a lifetime will take place from 5th – 8th April 2013.
