Wild Thang are riding on a wave of opportunity after the International Mersey River Festival sponsorship success!

Andrew Dwerryhouse Wild Thang MD Commented : “It was a privilege and honour to be the Head Line Sponsor for this year’s International River Mersey Festival, the whole of the mayoral and culture team have made sure we had as much publicity as possible and really did maximise the opportunity. Wild Thang really did feel really like the “Captain” of the River Festival so a big thank you to Joe Anderson and his dedicated team.

When we were drawn to be the headline sponsor I said “this is as close to winning the business lottery as you can get”, let’s face up to facts, it’s not every day you get drawn to be headline sponsor worth £125,000 so I stand by that comment fully.

With such a huge opportunity we wanted to maximise every marketing element we possibly could which included street, programme and website branding, social media interaction, networking over the event and the opportunity to interact with the public giving away over 1,000 balloons and mint cards over the event weekend. We topped this off by designing a range of River Festival Merchandise that sold out over the amazing 3 Queens visit.

In reality with the likes of Home Bargains, Peel Ports, Laing O’Rourke and Bibby Line in the running, this kind of sponsorship would usually be some way out of our league financially as an SME, that’s why the Mayoral 100 club is such a unique proposal. This has given Wild Thang the opportunity to raise our profile significantly within the region and even nationally while still supporting the River Festival and showing our very own commitment to corporate social values.

We have already generated easily enough work and quotes for more than double the amount it cost to join the 100 club and it’s still such early days when it comes to the effect that the event has had of raising our profile within the region, I am confident this will lead to increasing our work force significantly in the future directly related to this event.

My final words of wisdom is that you have got to be in it to win it and if you want to be involved in Liverpool City Region you simply have to get involved in partnerships like the Mayoral 100 Club.”
