The Purple Company have purchased the majority share holding of Silk Group Ltd as of 1st May 2015.

Robin Lyon-Smith of The Purple Company said “when the opportunity presented itself to invest in Silk Group with its 27 years in the industry and with so many experienced staff we really could not resist. We are keen to expand further our already growing business and this acquisition fits perfectly with our plans for the North West”.

Silk Group has been at the heart of the promotional industry for many years and is a long term member of the PAGE group. Pete Slater, Director of Silk Group commented, “We have grown a loyal and creative client base which covers the whole of the UK. The mix of experience from both companies will bring a wealth of knowledge and product for these customers. Everybody at Silk is very excited to be joining The Purple Company, together with their manufacturing expertise to add alongside our creative edge the next phase in our business growth will be thrilling”.

Silk Group will continue to be based at the offices in Bolton, making it a northern sales and creative hub. All accounts functions will be relocated to the Exeter head office. Peter Hackin, former Managing Director of Silk Group has now left the company and everybody from Silk wish him well with his future plans.
