Innovative, multifaceted and, above all, new: PSI FIRST is all about products from the world of promotional merchandise that have never been shown before and whose premieres will be happening at the Leading European Trade Fair of the Promotional Products Industry. A total of 50 companies have submitted their innovations for the second edition of the campaign. Following the introduction of the first ten, let’s now meet participants 11 to 20. At the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 7 to 9 January, they – along with 40 other participants – will demonstrate the degree of innovation that’s behind promotional merchandise, an industry with a long and storied tradition.

Acar Europe GmbH from Bad Homburg has been developing and producing paper products for more than 30 years. The company is betting on creative ideas and innovative designs along with quality and experience. The Acar assortment ranges from notebooks to leather goods. Only at PSI in January 2015 will the company tell us which segment their PSI FIRST innovation will come from.

Ulrike Schunke, sales and order support team-d Import-Export Warenvertriebs GmbH

Participating for the second time will be team-d Import-Export Warenvertriebs GmbH. “We already took part in last year’s PSI FIRST premiere with the OKTO FLEX”, says Ulrike Schunke, who’s responsible for sales and order support at team-d Import-Export Warenvertriebs GmbH. “The amount of positive feedback took us by surprise. Lots of visitors sought out our stand specifically and expressed an interest in our new product. Even after the event, we continued to receive numerous enquiries about our PSI FIRST novelty. Of course this outcome convinced us to sign up for the campaign again this year.” The exact product team-d will introduce at PSI 2015 will remain secret until the start of the trade fair. “Let me just tell you this much: our innovation will be from the technology field. We can’t wait to get feedback from visitors and look forward to many interested and curious customers who won’t want to miss our premiere.”

Similarly, innovations also represent a key business segment for Troika Germany GmbH. While the company from Müschenbach in Rhineland-Palatinate, which was founded in 1992, specialises in men’s products and gifts, its diverse assortment of goods does have something for the ladies, too. Products they currently offer include key chains, office products, stationary, cases and notebooks, and even handbag holders and pocket mirrors.

“We look forward to actively supporting PSI FIRST once again this year. Our company considers PSI FIRST an important initiative that helps to drive innovation in the industry”, says Listawood AT Promotions Ltd Managing Director Alex Turner. “In 2014, we introduced our ground-breaking and patented SatinSub® series of full-colour mugs, which was met with great interest. Of course we can’t reveal details about our new product for 2015 at such an early stage, but I can assure you that our innovation will be an equally impressive novelty.”

Who would have thought back in 1928, when it all started with the manufacture of wooden crates, that Ritter-Pen GmbH would one day become most famous for pens? But that’s exactly what happened. Since 1948, the company, which is headquartered in Brensbach, has successfully produced pens with the aim of offering writing instruments that aren’t just functional but meaningful and distinctive at the same time. By participating in PSI FIRST, Ritter-Pen will once again show how much room for innovation there is, even when it comes to something like a simple writing utensil.

For over 65 years now, Kalfany Süße Werbung GmbH & Co. KG has been dedicated to promotional products that don’t just taste good but look stunning, as well. Visitors to PSI 2015 can look forward to another novelty from the world of sweet promotional goods, because Kalfany is among the 50 participants in the PSI FIRST campaign. “Our trade fair visitors expect us to deliver exciting new products each and every year. We select the novelty that offers our customers the best opportunities and choose this item as our PSI FIRST product”, says Bernd S. Adler, the sales director of Kalfany Süße Werbung GmbH & Co. KG. “Without spoiling the suspense surrounding PSI FIRST, I can only say this much: sweet advertising has a dual promotional effect. Looks good and tastes great!”

Porcelain with the power of expression is part of the standard repertoire at Mahlwerck Porzellan GmbH. Be it to-go coffee cups, classic porcelain mugs, or mugs and cups featuring innovative shapes – the manufacturer of promotional porcelain from Kolbermoor in Upper Bavaria is focussed on accuracy, aesthetics and quality when it comes to its products. The company is also among the participants of the second PSI FIRST campaign.

Luxury goods can be promotional products, too. Plastoria SA from Brussels proves it. Plastoria specialises in the development of luxury accessories with an emphasis on unusual designs. The company, which got its start way back as a leather manufacturer, today carries a range of fashion accessories from leather goods to writing instruments to watches.

“We want to introduce our existing business partners to an entirely new product segment within our portfolio while of course also wowing as many new business partners as possible with our innovations. PSI FIRST is the perfect platform for doing just that”, says Jörg Sons, CEO of Schärfer Werben GmbH. “Lots of attention to detail – that’s what won us over, and we hope it’ll also win over PSI 2015 visitors. We’re happy to have the opportunity to present a product segment that’s most convincing because of the craftsmanship and technical skills that flow into it.”

Herzog Products GmbH will also introduce a new product to the promotional merchandise market at PSI 2015. It could come from a multitude of fields, as the company from Keltern in Baden Württemberg offers everything from earphones and headsets to loudspeakers shaped like coffee mugs to cable organisers, flashlights and computer accessories.

Some 50 exhibitors will come together for the second time in the PSI FIRST Club at PSI 2015 in order to leverage the trade fair specifically for the launch of their new products. It’s a way for visitors to experience quite a range of premieres, since the products must not be shown anywhere else beforehand, not even at in-house events. In return, PSI supports manufacturers with a comprehensive marketing package and makes them the focus of attention at the trade fair. In addition, the PSI FIRST AWARD is presented during the trade fair. At the inaugural event in 2014, this prize went to Giving Europe B.V., reeko design GmbH & Co. KG and Richartz GmbH. The PSI FIRST campaign aims at offering a platform for the sector to showcase essential innovations all in one place, right at the start of the promotional product year.
