The expert jury spent two days examining the 193 entries for the Promotional Gift Award on December 10 and 11. The winners have now been selected: 44 products and campaigns were awarded with the coveted industry prize conferred by WA Media. 20% of the winners come from European countries other than Germany. Once again the competition demonstrated how creatively haptic advertising can communicate corporate messages – whether in the scope of the Magic Tattoo, which only becomes visible once it has been applied to the skin; a balloon grip made of cardboard instead of plastic; blood, sweat and tears in the form of ink that write success or a collection of delicatessen containing culinary delights made from surplus fruit and vegetables that whet the recipients‘ appetite in a sustainable manner.

In order to determine the winners of the Promotional Gift Award 2019, Michael Mätzener from the Swiss promotional products agency, diewerbeartikel gmbh; Ulrike Müßigbrodt from Henkel, the managing shareholder of WA Media, Michael Scherer; Nadja Trumm from Volkswagen Zubehör; the owner of merchandise.blog, Michael Witzorrek; the organiser of the promotional products trade fair, marke[ding], Martin Zettl and Jürgen Zimmer from Mast-Jägermeister scrutinised the entries submitted to the competition. The winners in the seven categories Give-aways, Communicative Products, Custom-made Designs, Best Practice, Merchandising, Premium Products and Customising Technologies were determined using a scoring system. A special prize in the category “Presentation“ was additionally awarded.

The award ceremony of the Promotional Gift Award 2019 will be held on March 20, 2019 at the HAPTICA® live ‘19 at the World Conference Center Bonn/Germany, where all of the award-winning products will also be exhibited in a separate exhibition. Furthermore, the winners will be featured in detail in the February issue of the trade magazine eppi magazine (Publication date: February 20, 2019).
