Certified wholly women-owned business Outstanding Branding, a global distributor of promotional merchandise, were this month awarded Highly Commended in the hotly contested Group Member of the Year category at the Advantage Group Awards.

“It’s such an honour to receive this award”, commented CEO, Sarah Penn.  “To consider that this is based on the votes by our supply chain is a great feeling – they genuinely mean everything to us, so to be recognised amongst the very elite in the Advantage Group, and amongst some great competitors and friends, is a real achievement”.

The awards were presented at the traditional venue of Sopwell House, with the equally traditional evening meal and party also very much part of the evening.

“Being part of an excellent buying group like Advantage gives a huge amount of benefits to us as a business”, commented Andy Thorne, Sales & Marketing Director.  “Not only of course the access to a great catalogue and building on the relationships we have within our supply chain; but also, it gives us a group of like-minded distributors, with whom we are able to not only compete but also party!”.

Outstanding Branding would like to thank all of its suppliers, whether part of the Advantage Group or not.  “As I never tire of telling the team, Outstanding Branding would be nothing without our suppliers”, added Penn.  “We pride ourselves on spending less than 1% of our turnover direct with China – everything else goes through the UK and European-based suppliers who support us so well.  To be recognised as Highly Commended I think goes to show that the respect and appreciation goes both ways”.
