Certified wholly women-owned business Outstanding Branding’s CEO Sarah Penn was announced as winner of the highly coveted Woman in Business Award on June 13, at the Southwark Business Excellence Awards 2019.
The prestigious Woman in Business Award recognises an outstanding individual, whose business acumen, leadership and success sets an example to others and is someone who has made a significant contribution to the local business community — and is recognised as a valued ambassador and role model for the borough.
Sarah commented “I’m so overwhelmed to have received this accolade – being recognised for doing the job I love is a phenomenal feeling.
For Outstanding Branding to be recognised in the same night as a Highly Commended Employer of the Year is so incredibly rewarding too, and I’m enormously proud of our management team who have such a huge part to play.
Also of course a huge debt of gratitude needs to be paid to my business partner, Andy Thorne, without whom neither me nor the company would be where we are today.”
At the same awards Outstanding Branding were thrilled to come Highly Commended in the Employer of the Year category.
This award recognises companies taking care of their people – and having them at the heart of creating a great place to work, where people are appreciated, engaged, productive and thriving, it looks for an employer with a strategic and committed approach towards employee investment, engagement, welfare, training, development and diversity, no matter the person’s gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or social status.

All in all it was a great awards evening with a 1st and 2nd accolade in two hotly contested categories.”
