Simon Patnick, Managing Director of leading distributor Merchandise Mania, is aiming to call an Extraordinary General Meeting of Promota. This action has followed the recent collapse of merger talks with BPMA. To call a Promota EGM a minimum of 20 members of the Association must request an EGM in writing to the Association Secretary. Should an EGM be called, a minimum of 20 members are required to be in attendance to form a quorum. Simon said ‘I wish to call an EGM because it is time to put differences aside and look to the future of our industry. It is not about individuals, it is about the membership of both bodies and it is time these individuals realised it is time for one strong, cohesive body to lead the industry in the UK.’ I am proposing a ‘vote of no confidence in the current Promota board’ to form the EGM agenda. If you would be prepared to support me in calling an EGM please contact me directly. Should the vote of no confidence be carried, Simon plans to stand for the board initially with a clear objective to conclude the merger with BPMA, at that time Simon will stand down. Should they be willing, Simon has stated that he would also support any current eligible BPMA Board Member who would also like to stand for election to the Promota board. | If you wish to support Simon he can be contacted on: 0208 736 0280 – simon@merchandisemania.co.uk
