Leighton Buzzard. Tuesday 18 February 2020: Liquid Lens has announced they are working closely with I-Sub Digital to deliver complete solutions for domed label production. Together, the companies will provide and support each of the elements required to produce resin labels in bulk using a Mimaki wide format digital inkjet printer and cutter or an integrated print and cut machine.

I-Sub Digital is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of wide format digital printing and finishing systems. The company is focused on supplying market leading solutions from industry leading manufacturers and supporting its customers’ needs long after the initial investment and supplies all consumable needs, from inks and media, to cutting blades and finishing tools. The company has many years of hands-on industry expertise on all aspects of large format print production, including solvent, UV ink-based printers, laminators and digital cutting tables.

“We are continually talking to our customers about the potential they have for additional business when they purchase a wide format printer from us. Domed labels support this argument perfectly,” says Emma Plant Sales Director at I-Sub, adding, “For a relatively minimal investment, our customers can add a whole new application set to their portfolio with an established product that can drive considerable incremental revenue.”

She continues, “We have a longstanding relationship with Liquid Lens and they have regularly generated interest in their solutions and come to us to provide their inkjet printers. This gives us a great opportunity to have detailed conversations with the customer and to recommend and provide the ideal solution. Similarly, we can have further discussions with existing customers and prospects and encourage them to speak with Liquid Lens to learn more about domed labels and their market-leading resin.”

The complete label production system consists of a digital inkjet printer, cutter (or integrated print/cut machine provided by I-Sub and a specialist doming machine provided by Liquid Lens. Depending on the size and speed of each element, customers can quickly start producing thousands of labels per day. The printer itself can be a solvent or UV ink-based machine and customers can be up and running and producing premium quality resin labels immediately.

Steve Hastie, Managing Director of Liquid Lens, says, “Investing in wide format printing brings many great business opportunities and domed labels provide a particularly strong and profitable application area. Through the relatively simple process of adding a small amount of resin, basic cut vinyl stickers are transformed into premium quality hard or flexible domed labels that can be used in many different ways.”

Liquid Lens is the only global supplier of its automotive production grade polyurethane resin in easy to use cartridge format. This resin is demonstrably superior to other products in the market. Hastie explains, “Our resin is very easy to use and apply, cures quickly and provides a consistent and reliable finish. Our resin always delivers a smooth, resilient surface, compared to many other resins, which are often rough or sticky to touch. This is because our resin, which always fully closes, comes from one of the world’s largest and best manufacturers of polyurethane resin.”

The two companies will both be exhibiting at the upcoming Packaging Exhibition in Birmingham on 26th and 27th February. “We have found this exhibition to be ideal for talking to companies who know what they want and are looking for the best solutions,” says I-Sub’s Emma Plant. “We will be encouraging our customers and visitors to also visit the Liquid Lens stand to show them the possibilities they can achieve with domed labels.”

Steve Hastie concludes, “We are delighted to be working with I-Sub to deliver complete domed label solutions because we know that many of our customers can benefit from each company’s experience and support in developing different strands of their business. If purchased to create domed labels, they have the opportunity to also create posters, vehicle graphics, point of sale displays and much more. Similarly, if they have purchased a printer for large format applications, they have a ready-made solution for targeting a whole new revenue stream.”
