Multi award-winning distributor of promotional merchandise Outstanding Branding, is pleased to announce that they are helping to support a very special girl in her quest to help homeless people this winter.

Six year old Ava Woods from Skelmersdale, Lancashire, was so inspired and moved after watching a documentary on homelessness, that she asked her mum what they could do in order to give people a big hug this winter. Ava’s mum, Nadine commented that she “wanted to do something to help, and she said a blanket is like a warm hug from your mum. And that’s what the blankets are, Ava’s way of giving these people a hug.”

From the impact of the documentary, Ava, her mum and aunt set up a Facebook Group; ‘Avas Hugs for Winter’; in order to gain momentum and to help aid their work by encouraging people to get involved and donate blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, clothes and toiletries.

The story was picked up by ITV’s popular breakfast show This Morning on Friday 4th December. Presenter Michael Underwood went into Ava’s primary school, St Francis of Assisi in Skelmersdale, to surprise her with a sizeable donation of goods for her collection, and also a family holiday to Disney World Florida. It was this coverage which caught the eye and heart of #teamOB, and made them want to help by sending Ava and her team a number of branded t-shirts to wear for when they make their drop-offs at the White Chapel homeless shelter in Liverpool and Thompson’s Mission in the Wirral.
