Stockport based Hatters Promotions has recently embarked on a programme that changes lives around the world. Hatters is now partnering with B1G1 (buy one, give one) – a simple yet powerful way of giving back.

Through B1G1, each Hatters sale of promotional products now creates its own specific (and positive) impact. Already, Hatters have linked their products in surprising ways – from providing water to children in Malawi, shelter for a person in Nepal, hot drinks for the homeless in Auckland and numerous other causes.  

Jo Shippen, founder of Hatters, was shocked when she learned that only 4% of all money given to charities is from companies. ‘Imagine what would happen if companies took the decision to give regularly.Just imagine the difference and impact it would have.It would impact so many lives in such a positive way. I’m delighted to say that we’ve already had an impact on over 500 people.’  

 Jo Shippen said that the impact was being felt in other ways too. ‘Although we’ve always had a great team here at Hatters, the team is even more energised knowing that every time someone buys our products, some real good gets done.’  

She explained that B1G1 gives her business a ‘giving engine’ that allows easy access to over 600 projects across 22 different countries.   ‘It means we now can feel great about our business making giving an effortless habit. It’s changing our lives and the lives of people we’ve never met and it’s allowing us to form an even deeper connection with our customers too. We know now that we’re making a difference every second, every day and in every way.’
