The HAPTICA® live ’20 that was scheduled to take place at the World Conference Center Bonn (WCCB) on June 18, 2020 has been postponed. The “Experience of Haptic Advertising” is now going to be staged at the WCCB on September 8, 2020 from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.

As the organiser WA Media explained, the developments surrounding the COVID-19 epidemic have made it necessary to postpone the event: “The Minister Presidents of the Federal States and the Chancellor announced in a resolution on April 15, that large-scale events are completely banned in Germany up until August 31, 2020. The more recent legal stipulations on trade shows and congresses state no specifications regarding the size and type of the events allowed. A clarification of these issues is not foreseeable either,” stated Michael Scherer, CEO of WA Media. “As such, there is no planning security for the exhibitors, visitors or organisers of the HAPTICA® live, which means it is not possible to ensure the successful conduction of the event on June 18.”

The “Experience of Haptic Advertising” is thus now going to take place on September 8, 2020 at the WCCB. As well as being scheduled after the summer holidays, the venue date is also favourable for the industry with a view to the all-important year-end business. Unlike in the past, the HAPTICA® live ’20 will already begin at 8.30 a.m. and will end at 3.30 p.m.

An event concept that satisfies all of the safety and hygiene requirements laid down by the authorities and at the same time does justice to the character of the HAPTICA® live as the “Experience of Haptic Advertising” is currently being drawn up. Trusted elements such as the Best Practice Show and the lecture programme will remain intact. Details on the agenda of the event will be announced shortly.

Brit München, Project Manager of the HAPTICA® live: “Of course, the current situation is facing the entire industry with huge challenges. However, it is important for the advertisers as well as for the distributors and suppliers to remain visible and relevant. Even and especially in times of crisis, haptic advertising can fully exploit its strengths. Demonstrating these strengths is an essential concern of the HAPTICA live, which we will emphatically pursue in September.”
