When Great Central Plastics Ltd invested nearly ?100,000 in the installation of solar panels on its 10,500 ft? factory roof, it was a clear indication of the company?s green policy. So when Daventry County Council was looking for a partner to sponsor their Public Charging Point for electric cars, the company was pleased and proud to offer support to the ?7200 project.

Councillor Daniel Cribbin at Daventry District Council, organiser of the initiative, said: “It’s great that the new charging point has been installed, which will really help electric vehicle owners who are visiting Daventry.

“The Government is strongly encouraging the use of electric vehicles to help meet current climate reduction targets so this will hopefully encourage those people who may be considering purchasing electric cars to make that decision.”

Tony Phillips, Managing Director of Great Central Plastics Ltd, said: “As a responsible UK manufacturer committed to its green policy and reducing its carbon footprint, we were only too happy to get involved with the sponsorship of this EV charge point in Daventry.”
