Gerry Brooke-Bennett will finally hang up his calendar sample bag at the end of this month, after 40 years of service within the promotional calendars industry.

Gerry worked as Regional Manager for Eversheds for 17 years until they closed down at the end of 1997, when he decided to try out on his own and created Promo Plus – a business selling promotional items and business gifts including calendars. He sold this successful business to a larger concern in 2003.

Having worked as an agent for Reeve Calendars for 6 years at Promo Plus, Gerry took the position of National Trade Sales Manager in 2003 and during his time with the company has developed many new key accounts with distributors, as well as expanding the bespoke side of the operation.

Gerry’s passion carries through to the products he has worked with over this time. He believes that any company looking to invest money in promoting their brand and service/products require two things – value for money, and visibility. Both are achieved through what is, in effect a 12 month marketing tool, which is seen and viewed every working day.

When asked what Gerry will miss most about leaving the industry he replied: “the friends and contacts I have made over the years in the industry have been simply the best part of the job. From training sales teams and passing on product knowledge to creating solutions for clients and customers, I am always extremely proud of the end product. I will miss the people the most.”

Mark Shipley, Group Operations Director has praised Gerry’s customer service saying “we can always rely on his support to do the very best for distributors. Gerry has laid good foundations for his replacement, and for the future of the business.”
