The New Zealand Judo Team for the Glasgow Commonwealth games 2014 asked ETC Supplies for their urgent help!
The New Zealand Judo team had judo gowns with the Adidas logo on them. This branding was not allowed in the Commonwealth games at Glasgow this year. The games were due to start on Wednesday, so the team urgently needed someone who could offer them a quick solution to this problem.

ETC Supplies were recommended to the New Zealand team and being only 200 meters away from the athlete’s village, were easily accessible to them. The New Zealand judo team officials visited our premises with a black bag full of gowns that they wanted them to help with. They explained the problem to them about covering the Adidas logo. Sewing a new logo on top was not an option due to the thickness of the gown and that any sewn patch would have to be oversized to make it look neat. The other issue was that the replacement patch would need to be able to be removed after the games so the gowns could be used in other events with the Adidas logo showing clearly.

ETC Supplies suggested that they take some printed fabric that the New Zealand team had with them and use this to make up a new patch. The new patch would be covered with their Plasti-Fuse (double sided fusible film), cut to size and heat pressed over the Adidas logo. Then after the Glasgow games, the patch could be removed using their special badge remover chemical spray. The New Zealand team were over the moon (to say the least) that they had found a solution to this problem. The gowns were left with them and they did the work the same day. The New Zealand officials arrived early next day to collect the gowns and they were very satisfied with the end result.

The team ended the games with two silver and three bronze medals. I am pleased to say the patches stayed on and scored Gold.
