The team at Delvaux Ltd (www.DelvauxChocolates.com) are celebrating the long service of their Sales Manager Richard Pestana who has now been working at the promotional personalised Neapolitan Chocolate, Confectionery & Sweet supplier for 20 years!
That’s over half the time the family business has been trading since 1985, and Natalie Atkinson, Managing Director and daughter of the founder, tells us he feels like one of the family.
Richard is well known to all Delvaux’s customers now – you may have met him at the recent Sourcing City Purple Club Party at Henley – but when he first started at Delvaux on 7 July 1999 he was very much ‘behind the scenes’, taking a summer job on the chocolate lines after leaving college.
After a couple of months in the factory he was offered a permanent job working in the office dealing with accounts, customer enquiries and shipments etc before taking on the more specialist task of Quality Assurance & Purchasing, covering for a colleague on maternity leave.
He then moved to Sales and in 2008 he finally moved to his current role, taking responsibility for Sales & New Business Development.
Today Richard manages the Delvaux Sales & Customer Service team and oversees Delvaux’s long-standing and new customer accounts, artworks, shipments etc, while also attending exhibitions and setting up marketing campaigns.
However Richard is not completely office-bound as his forklift driving skills can come in handy in the Delvaux factory and he loves to help get pallets of orders labelled and on their way to Delvaux’s customers!
If you call Delvaux you will probably hear Richard’s voice first as he’s pretty quick off the draw when it comes to answering the phone and their customers always comment on his cheery, positive nature… especially around the time Liverpool won the Champions League!
All the team at Delvaux send their congratulations and thanks to Richard for his long service with Delvaux – long may he continue for another 20 years!
