The BPMA is delighted to announce the appointment of Jon Birrell to the position of CEO. Jon brings a wealth of industry knowledge having worked in the sector both as a supplier and most recently as a distributor for GeigerBTC.

BPMA Chairman Graeme Smith commented “We are thrilled to have someone of Jon’s calibre join the Association. He is highly regarded and respected amongst his peers and his understanding of the entire supply chain from manufacturing through to end user engagement, makes him the perfect candidate to drive the Association forward. He is a highly motivated individual who is passionate to continue to build the reputation of our industry, by reinforcing the benefits and value offered to members of the Association.”

Jon is looking forward to his new challenge stating “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to build on the knowledge base and experience I have gained from working so long in the industry. I have loved my time at GeigerBTC and it was a really difficult decision to leave such a strong team, but I feel that the time is right for my own development and chances like this don’t come around too often!”

Frank Murphy, MD of GeigerBTC said “Jon’s contribution over the past 10 years has been immeasurable and he will be sorely missed however this is too good an opportunity for him to pass up and we wish him all the very best in his exciting new role. Whilst Jon will be extremely difficult to replace we will be working hard to find our new Head of Marketing, hopefully from within our industry, as soon as possible.”

Jon will join the BPMA in the final quarter of the year.
