Big Bird Sports (UK) Ltd were recently tasked with supplying footballs and bibs to The FA for their Reds v Blues Grass Roots Campaign weekend.
The 10,000 custom made footballs and 8,500 bibs had to be delivered to nearly 130 separate UK wide addresses including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, and all within a 6 week lead time.
County Football Associations, Sport England, The National Trust and Wembley Stadium participated in encouraging the population to go out and play football, with FA Chairman Greg Dyke, former footballer Fabrice Muamba and TV star Mark Wright all participating in events across the country.
Events included beach football on Poole beach, Futsal tournaments and children’s matches at 12 National Trust properties.
Joan Robinson, Managing Director at Big Bird Sports said ‘this kind of order created its own issues especially with such short lead times, in some cases just 6 days, but with our network and infrastructure we achieved all deliveries right across the country on time, every time’.
