On the 26th September BTC activewear hosted a ‘Day of Cakes’ for Macmillan cancer support as part of the Macmillan nationwide coffee morning event. The day of cakes was hosted at the BTC head office in Wednesbury with bakers from all departments coming together to offer a great array of sweet and savory treats throughout the day.

To ensure that all staff could take part in the event BTC ran their day of cakes from 9am till 8.30pm meaning all departments and all shifts could take part for such a worthy cause. The choices were endless from warm Samosas to traditional halva cake and some more indulgent delights such as the snickers and caramel cheesecake. BTC’s regional offices also donned their aprons for theday holding their own coffee morning’s, their great efforts also contributing to the money raised.

BTC invited customers to fill their boots and with lots of visitors throughout the day and very generous staff BTC raised a fantastic £1000. This amazing amount was raised through a combination of cake sales, printed shopper bags and a T-shirt promotion with Fruit of the Loom. There were also generous donations from Skala who provided tables and chairs, Ev-ent Hire who provided some tea and coffee Jugs and Merlin Creations who helped with the printed T-shirts and shopper bags.

A cheque was presented to Eloise Davidson, Macmillan Fundraising Manager for Birmingham and the Black Country by Katie Wright, Assistant Marketing Manager for BTC activewear. On receiving the cheque Eloise commented “On behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support I would like to say a huge thank you to BTC activewear for their fantastic support of our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event 2014, I was so impressed by the effort that they made in organising their event especially through the sale of their branded bags and t-shirts! Thanks to their support we can now continue to help the countless number of people who are affected by cancer and provide support when they need it most”
