This inspiring project, spearheaded by the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) and Pepala (a registered Community Interest Company), aims to repurpose surplus promotional stock to address the significant shortage of basic classroom resources in developing countries. It’s a true win-win for sustainability and global education! 🌱✏️

To mark World Children’s Day, Castelli demonstrated its commitment by donating 250 Red Tucson Flexible notebooks to Pepala. 📓 These notebooks are now en route to Malawian schools, transforming unused stock into valuable tools that support learning and creativity. ✨

“Every child deserves the tools to write their own story,” says Jacky Foster from Castelli. “Our Tucson Flexible donation is a small but meaningful step in supporting the BPMA’s goal of building a more sustainable and socially responsible industry. We’re proud to work with Pepala to help fill classrooms with opportunity.” 💫

The collaboration reflects Castelli’s values and aligns closely with Pepala’s vital mission. Founded by Amara Sharif after witnessing the scarcity of stationery in Malawian classrooms, Pepala – named after the Chichewa word for “paper” – collects surplus notebooks, pens, and creative supplies from UK businesses and redistributes them to children who need them most. Their focus on sustainability and global education makes them a natural partner for the BPMA and its members. 🤝

Castelli encourages industry peers to join the initiative! Pepala welcomes donations of surplus:

  • Stationery (pens, pencils, rulers) 🖊️
  • Art Supplies (crayons, glue sticks) 🎨
  • School Bags 🎒

These items can be easily rehomed and immediately put to use.
