Taken from Sharon Lee’s Blog:
“During our 70th anniversary year, our company has changed unrecognisably. We have added 14 new hat styles, increased our colourway offering, increased our square footage in our warehouse, invested in yet more machinery and invested in more team members. We have certainly made the most of our platinum year both on and off the field, and yet it’s gone by in a flash.
However, a great company is nothing without a great team, and this blog is going to focus on the new team members who have joined our company over the past 3 months.
So, please be introduced to our newest colleagues.
I have recently joined the Sharon Lee sales team. My new job role working as a Sales Processor has presented many challenges so far, which I enjoy finding a solution for! I have been welcomed with open arms by the Sharon Lee team, which I am very grateful for. I am looking forward to continuing to grow in my job and within the company.
I have recently graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Fashion Management. Through completing my degree I have gained essential industry knowledge and insights into the fashion and retail sectors. My dissertation explored the impact of the digital age and the increase in experiential retailing that confirmed my decision to further my career path within the fashion industry. I am excited to take on the position as Sales and Accounts Assistant within the Sharon Lee department. So far I have been welcomed nicely by the Sharon Lee team and have learnt key processes and systems that are essential in maintaining all aspects of retailer’s orders. It is great to join the team in such an exciting time of the business!
I have recently graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in Contemporary Design, and focused my studies in textile art. Having specialised in print and embroidery, I have an in-depth knowledge in a wide range of textile techniques which allows me to understand the processes we provide here and in Far East factories.
I’m originally from Wales and have moved to the area to further my career after University. Here at Sharon Lee I am an account manager (in training) and I will be a main point of contact for many of our customers. My time at Sharon Lee has started positively, we have a great team and excellent opportunities. I am looking forward to furthering my knowledge to provide the best service that the growing business is known so well for.
This year Sharon Lee also offered a short-term internship, which was an incredible success not just to the company but also to Ellie.
I am currently studying Fashion Management at Nottingham Trent University and about to start my third and final year. For the past 3 months I have been an intern within the sales department at Sharon Lee assisting the account managers with customer’s orders. I have had the opportunity to shadow meetings with designers and buying teams from many top companies.
Through completing this internship I have made key industry contacts and gained knowledge which has aided me in writing my dissertation proposal for my final year at university. I have really enjoyed my time working for Sharon Lee and perhaps the most important takeaway is that I have gained valuable experience in the industry that I wish to pursue my career in.
Sadly Ellie is heading back to University this week but has been a major help throughout the summer and whilst she will be missed, we would like to wish her all the best in her final year of university.
A final thought:
Being a service based supplier, when we are looking for new team members to join our company, we look for personable, fun and determined people. Ellie, Nadia, Debbie and Hollie most certainly have all of these qualities and we are delighted to welcome them to the team Sharon Lee.”
