On The 15th June 2014 our I.T. Support Technician, James Gnosill-Pyne took part in the much anticipated London to Brighton bike ride. James, Director of Gee Tech IT Ltd., was one of over 27,000 people taking part in the 57 mile route to raise money for charity. Here is what he had to say about it:

How many years have you been doing the London to Brighton bike ride for?
“This was my 2nd year.”

How long did it take you?
“Longer than expected this year, around 9 hours. Although we were held up for an hour and a half due to an accident.”

What was the best bit?
“Its gotta be reaching the top of Ditching Beacon and the downhill ride into Brighton.  So many people come out to cheer you on, it’s a lovely feeling to have that kind of support.”

What was the worst bit?
“Hmmm getting up at 5am or knowing that after riding 50 miles you have to face the steepest and longest hill of them all.  I’ll go with the hill, its so misleading, every time you round a corner and think you’re at the top but it just keeps going!”

Which charity were you raising money for?
“British Heart Foundation”

How much did you raise?
“I haven’t finished collecting it yet, but it will be about £500.”

Will you do it next year?
“Hell yeah!

Well done to my team for making it.  For some it was their first time and I know how daunting the first one can be, you begin to doubt if you can make it but everyone finished and are now talking about doing the night ride from London to Brighton next month.  Gotta mention the two guys dressed in full on business suits riding Boris bikes!  How they made it is beyond me. ”

A massive congratulations to James and his fellow cyclists from the team at Reflex.
