The Bobby Anti-Theft Backpack from XD Design (a Xindao brand) has won a Red Dot Product Design Award 2017.

The successful launch of the Bobby Anti-Theft Backpack on Kickstarter hadn’t escaped the jury of the Red Dot Design Award either. More than 200,000 of the backpacks have already been sold worldwide.

What makes this backpack so successful?
The design of the bag takes theft in busy cities, on public transport or in other places into account where it’s difficult to always keep an eye on your things. A professional thief can often steal something with just a flick of the hand.

The design
The task for our XD designers was to create a backpack where the zip is hidden and the material is resistant to knives, scissors or other sharp objects.
The bag also had to offer optimum comfort, be visible at night or in bad weather and have a very contemporary look.

The result turned out to be a hit!

Building a family
There’s been a follow-up to the success, of course, with the colourful Bobby Compact family. Just as functional, but the name says it all: just a bit smaller and in five eye-catching, trendy colours!
