Wild Thang are completely and utterly over the moon to have been drawn out the hat to be headline sponsor for the International Mersey River Festival at the Mayoral 100 Club Gala Dinner, which has a prize value of £125,000 in brand presence across city dressing, print, press & social media coverage across all marketing platforms.

Andrew Dwerryhouse MD at Wild Thang Ltd commented “As a small local Liverpool business employing only 20 people this is a very big deal for Wild Thang so I want to personally thank Mayor Joe Anderson for creating this opportunity that will help our business with publicity and brand exposure across the city region. This we hope will lead to growth in business creating further employment locally.

With the likes of Home Bargains, Peel Ports, Laing O’Rourke and Bibby Line in the running, this kind of sponsorship would be some way out of our league financially and that’s exactly why it was such a unique opportunity to be drawn on a totally equal footing.

We are a very proud family owned Liverpool company so knew by paying the membership fee and supporting the Mayoral 100 club Initiative we would actually be fulfilling in part our Corporate Social Responsibility by reinvesting back into our city. As branded clothing and merchandise experts we have been lucky enough to have been involved in some way or form in every major cultural event that has happened in the Liverpool region over the past 10 years. Even though in some cases we have made little or nothing financially we always knew by being involved it would lead to opportunities, so now it genuinely feels as if some of that hard work is being repaid in the form of a little bit of luck!

I think the future success of the Liverpool City region will provide further growth in the Liverpool tourism sector with small and medium size businesses like ourselves benefitting across the region. This should be a lesson learnt to other SMEs to get involved in the Mayoral 100 Club Initiative because as that old cliché goes: You have got to be in it to win it!“
