ASI have reported that two of the world’s largest retailers have entered the promotional merchandise marketplace in the USA. The new brands are called Walmart Promo Shop and Merch by Amazon.

The UK and USA already have Vistaprint very much active in the promotional merchandise marketplace.

In time, it is anticipated that this development is likely to be a clear threat to current online distributors who may struggle to compete on both product price and market exposure against these giants. On the other hand they still have time to develop USP’s for their offering before one or both arrive in the UK.

Distributors who provide a consultative style service will have less to be concerned about as it is unlikely these massive players will want to develop their business from complete online sales. It appears they prefer online sales without direct customer interaction.
