THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY RELOCATES TO MARGAM, PORT TALBOT

Michton Ltd has recently acquired the former Orion factory in Margam, Port Talbot for an undisclosed gure. The 100 000 sq ft factory will allow for further expansion. MICHTON LIMITED was established in 1992 by siblings Michelle & Tony Wadley. The company started in Eneld, London
and relocated to Swansea in 1998. Both Michelle and Tony are excited with the new acquisition. MICHTON is a British chocolate and confectionery manufacturer which has been able to buck the trend and expand during these dicult times. Tony says “being able to keep the company based in Wales is very important to us. We have a highly skilled, dedicated work force, and without them the company would not be where we are today. As a company, we are driven by innovation and 1st class customer service.”

The Chocolate Factory tours will be open in time for the summer 2013 holidays. The experience will be bigger with new interactive areas, visitor centre and soft play for the children. It is the intention to relocate the entire chocolate production facility from Swansea to the new site by the end of 2013.

MICHTON manufactures moulded solid and hollow chocolate products, edible cake decorations and peppermints. The products are supplied to retailers, wholesalers and plant bakeries throughout the UK and Europe either under own label or The Chocolate Factory, Bite Promotions & BakeArt brands.

Currently MICHTON employs 35 full time sta and additional seasonal part-time sta. The move will allow for expansion and the company is currently recruiting. (See company website www.michton.com). The move will allow for further investment in production lines & specialised machinery.
