SPS welcomed a VIP on site this April, with paralympian Shelly Woods calling in to receive a very special cheque for £5,894.70 for the charity ‘Get Kids Going!’.

Throughout 2014, SPS donated money from the sale of every single sports bottle in their ‘H2O Active’ range to this national charity, aimed to help disabled young athletes access the equipment they need to take their sporting careers to the next level.

Lancashire-born Shelly is an elite paralympic athlete with an impressive track record in both the 2008 and 2012 Olypmpics, and takes part in marathons around the world. Phil Morgan, SPS CEO comments: “It was great to meet with Shelly and find out more about the fantastic support that Get Kids Going! provides. When we launched our H2O Active Sports Bottles, we saw it as a great opportunity to support and raise awareness for a sporting charity, and we’re delighted to know that in some small way, we’ll be able to help young people move forwards with their sporting ambitions. Everybody in the industry knows how proud we are at SPS to be a British manufacturer, and so it’s great to be able help build up our British sporting talent.”

Jane Emerson, CEO OF Get Kids Going! adds “We are absolutely delighted to have received such wonderful support from everyone at SPS. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done for the many disabled children here at Get Kids Going! Their support will help them to participate in sport. I can assure you that they all want to be a Shelly Woods when they grow up!”
