A number of industry suppliers attended a Sourcing City Marketplace Focus Group at Sourcing City offices in Farnborough yesterday. The day involved a presentation of the concept, structure and details of this new industry event. The presentation was followed by an active discussion session where it was evident that everyone in attendance was excited about the concept and also had some valuable ideas to contribute to adding value.


As a result we can now announce that Sourcing City Marketplace with take place at FIVE in Farnborough on the 27th & 28th September 2011. FIVE is a new purpose built 3000sqm event venue within the home of the Farnborough Air Show with excellent transport links.


In a nutshell, Sourcing City Marketplace is an ‘invitation only’ event, where professional conversations will be held by appointment with invited distributors. To ensure it is possible for effective conversations to take place within every appointment made by guests, a set structure will be followed by all hosts. Also, Conversation Pods will be a restricted to a maximum of 150. Invited guests will also be limited on both days. This is being done so that everyone attending can get a real understanding and value from the information being presented.


Sourcing City Marketplace is not an exhibition, and is not about product. We believe suppliers have an even more important story to tell, and we will be providing a relaxed and focused environment for this to happen. In today’s business it is hard to grow sales, but improving efficiencies and support can contribute just as well to an improved bottom line. The host suppliers want to let all the invited guests know how this can be achieved by all of the support they can offer. Added to this the event has some exciting business speakers, who can genuinely add value to your business. There is lots more to tell, and this will follow as the event continues to approach.


Such was the support & belief in Sourcing City Marketplace, that 32 Conversation Pods were booked there and then by suppliers at the Focus Group Day. In the coming days more suppliers will be invited to join the Sourcing City Marketplace. This will be followed in the coming weeks with further information for the invited distributors as to how & why the hosts at Sourcing City Marketplace can really improve their efficiency & profitability.
