CMC Update 3

Begbies Traynor have now confirmed that CMC ceased trading on Thursday due to insolvency. CMC’s directors have instructed Begbies Traynor to assist them in placing the company into liquidation. All company creditors will be notified shortly by Begbies Traynor in a creditors meeting. Concerned creditors can contact Begbies Traynor regarding any queries they may have. Tel: 01702 467255. | Our own investigations have been unable to establish whether the sale of any assets, stock or order book have yet been made or completed. | We have heard the creditors meetings may be happening on 4th November 2009, but this is yet to be confirmed. | We have also spoken to Andy Chaston of Bury Promotions Ltd in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, and we can confirm that they are in no way connected with BPL. Tony McFarland who was a founder of CMC, is a director at BPL (Bury Promotions UK Ltd). | At present we are actively trying to track down former CMC staff members who have lost their jobs. We will be doing our best to help anyone from CMC find a new role in the trade by publishing all CV’s received here in Sourcing City News. Fortunately, we have heard from numerous distributors looking to recruit and we will of course keep them informed.
