Sourcing City have announced that 95 top industry suppliers will be at SC Marketplace in September.

Last year SC Marketplace had 61 Hosts, and the growth of suppliers participating in SC Marketplace 2012 represents an increase of over 50% on the previous year.

Sourcing City Marketplace will take place at FIVE in Farnborough on the 26th & 27th September 2012.  The event is an exclusive ‘by invitation only’ event for large promotional merchandise distributors. The concept of the event is to focus on professional conversations, by appointment, where the host explains in-depth all of the additional services & support they could offer major players to benefit their business.  This year’s theme is ‘Ten Thing You Did Not Know About Us’.

To have received an invitation a distributor company must have a turnover in excess of ?500k.

The difference of the event is evident as soon as you enter the hall.  Normal expectations would be to see traditional exhibition stands, however the low level conversation pods create a completely different atmosphere, with the casual seating pod layouts providing an ideal environment for relaxed and in-depth conversations.

At the beginning of the first day, and before the show hall opens, Timothy Andrews, CEO & President of ASI, will be speaking to both distributors and suppliers on; ‘How Businesses Grow in the USA’.

Last year for some, there was a question mark over holding an event in a southern location, this however proved to be of no concern with major distributors attending from all over the country.  The event venue at FIVE, Farnborough provided facilities in keeping with the best known exhibition halls across the UK.  Sourcing City’s own published research reveals that distributors based in the South of England have a combined turnover of almost ?340 million.  This equates to around 50% of the entire UK & Ireland market spend.

Alistair Mylchreest, CEO at Sourcing City said: “We are delighted that so many effective professional conversations take place, it also feels good to help people to learn more and to help both distributors and suppliers build their business opportunities. It is essential to limit the number of distributors attending Sourcing City Marketplace to ensure the concept works and that everyone has the right time to have effective conversations. However, we are committed to supporting the entire distributor channel in the industry, so we have also created SC LIVE!, another new event to include all sizes of professional distributors in January 2013.”
