Last year the staff of Gilt Edged Promotions set themselves the challenging target of raising £2000 for Action Medical Research, a children’s charity. After a number of events and challenges, they were delighted to achieve this target and raise a total of £2008.50.

The first event was a Coffee Morning held at their premises in Moulton Park, Northampton to which they invited other local businesses for coffee, cakes, product demonstrations and networking. Money was raised through a raffle and donations from the attendees.

Next came the extremely challenging sponsored ‘PLOD’ that saw two intrepid teams walk throughout the night around Rutland water in what turned out to be one of the years worst storms. They completed the 20 miles tired, wet and in need of a good breakfast!

Other fundraising activities included Cake Sales, a Car Boot Sale and Staff Fun Days.

Action Medical Research have recently teamed up with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and are jointly funding £2,050,836 across 13 different projects including research into neuroblastoma (a childhood cancer), leukaemia, cerebral palsy, cystic fibrosis, epilepsy, Tourette’s syndrome and some rare inherited conditions such as X-linked lymphoproliferative disease.

On Tuesday 19th January, Clara Gill from Action Medical Research came to collect the cheque from Managing Director, Jonathan Cook and Head of Sales, Natalie Eichmann. Clara Gill said “Thank you so much for your support this year and well done on all your fundraising.”

Everyone at Gilt Edged was more than delighted to raise funds for a charity doing such good work with children around the country.
