2014 sees Evolve Branding celebrating 25 years in business. Starting out in 1989 as Conway Print and Design in Peterborough, Harvey Jeal has seen many major changes as the company has developed and become the award winning garment decoration business it is today.
In the early days Harvey went on the road “getting” business. It was in this period of the late ’80s and early ’90s that the promotional garment market was really starting to take off and Evolve Branding, at the time known as Conway Print & Design, experienced steady growth. Turnover grew from ?89,000 in the first year to surpass ?1 million in 2008, and the company continues to grow today.
The Company was re-named Evolve Branding in 2004 and in 2009 moved to bigger premises at 20 Wainman Road in Peterborough. At about 13,000sq ft, it is more than double the size of the previous site at Wulfric Square, Bretton. The extra space has provided a number of benefits, according to Harvey.
He said: “There is a better production flow and control and our larger warehouse gives us a far greater capacity for stock holding. Embroidery, which accounts for about 20 per cent of all work, is done via four, state-of-the-art embroidery machines which can produce a vast number of embroidered garments per day in up to 15 different colours. It also houses 3 screen printing machines with a 4th on the way, and we are able to print thousands of garments each week.”
Harvey, who has been Managing Director of the business for the past 22 years, is ably assisted by loyal and long-serving staff, headed by production manager Nigel Hill, who has been at the helm for 21 years. In fact within the workforce there is over 150 years of combined experience in garment decoration, all constantly striving to make sure that the customer service is a positive and efficient experience for all involved.
Continuous investment in the latest machinery and technology has always been key to Evolves ability to maintain the very high standards constantly achieved, and plans are in place to ensure that future development keeps pace with the fast moving and exciting new advances as they become available.
